I have so many things that I’ve wanted to start doing regularly over the last couple years; but somehow, and due to many excuses, I never “got around to it.” Yet, I know I would feel much better, in every way, if I started. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. I’d have less headaches, but more active, have more energy, feel less nauseated everyday, sleep better, get sick less often, feel happier, feel sexier and more beautiful, be more confident, be less stressed, have less anxiety, plus many more benefits. So, here’s what I want to start doing:
- Meditation
- Yoga
- Exercise
- Take vitamins & supplements
- Go to bed at a regular time
- Journal
- See my girl-friends more often
- Drink more tea (green tea, black tea, chamomile tea, etc.)
- Drink less coffee
- Consume less dairy & sugar
- Eat more green veggies, fish, & fruits
On an accomplished note, I have managed to reduce my soda to once a week or even once every couple weeks. I had 2 yesterday and I regret drinking the second one, but I’m not gonna beat myself up over it or dwell on it. I also drank green tea yesterday morning instead of coffee, though it was kinda gross. I’ll figure out what works for me regarding the tea over time, though. I take some vitamins everyday, including B-12, D, and Women’s One A Day. I’ve also been eating more green veggies. I always make sure to include them when it’s my night to cook each week. I need to amp it up to everyday, I know. I’ll get there.
As for the exercising…the crazy thing is, I really am a fitness freak. But I have the hardest time sticking with a routine (or exercising consistently) for more than a couple weeks at a time without stopping for like a month…or months. Maybe I should find an accountability partner to keep me going and help keep me motivated.
Anyway, the point is that I always end up making excuses for not doing all these things. It’s always either, “I’m busy with homework/studying,” “I’m too tired” (which is often due to my thyroid imbalance), “I don’t feel like it,” and the ever so popular “I’ll do it tomorrow.” I want results, but I’m never willing to actually get up off my rear and do something about it. But that stops now. No more excuses.
The things on that list are important to me, so I’m going to find a way to make them a priority ‘til they become my lifestyle. Plus, it only takes 21 days of doing something consistently for it to become a habit. Then from there, a lifestyle.
So whatever it is that you’ve been wanting to do, go do it! Stop making excuses and “just do it.” You’ll be glad you did. I promise.
