Tomorrow is my last day of classes for this semester. Couldn’t be happier to have a month to relax! I loved my classes this semester, but I need a breather. My anthropology class was really interesting. We learned about all the different ways to learn about cultures: religion, food, medicine, gender roles, etc. Every one of those is different for each culture, and it was fascinating to learn about. I really like anthropology; it’s a ton of work, but it’s fun 🙂

I liked statistics, though it wasn’t always easy. Some parts of it were pretty challenging, but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it’d be. Humanities was interesting as always. We read various plays and books, such as I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, A Doll’s House, Hamlet, On Liberty, and Communist Manifesto. I wrote 6 papers for that class, and it was fun since I love writing 🙂

My sociology final is tomorrow, so I’ll be studying for that today and tomorrow. It was a good class. I liked it, but sociology isn’t my strongpoint. So yes, a break is much needed. I’m looking forward to it…just 2 more days.

I also finished decorating my place 🙂 Here’s my Christmas tree (well, mini-tree compared to my parents’ tree):
My tree

And I have a little Christmas house as a decoration on my coffee table:

And let’s not forget Frosty! 🙂
Frosty

I love Frosty. You can’t look at him and be sad. You just can’t. I mean seriously, look at that face.

Of course, there are many more decorations than that. But…my beloved camera stopped working this week, so I couldn’t take any more pictures 😦 And the ones I did take weren’t that great because the camera was messing up. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get that fixed soon. So yes, my place is all decorated now. Wish I could have more pictures for y’all!

Anyway, I have a sociology final to study for, so I’m gonna get to that now. Have a great day, all! 🙂

I am finally done with summer classes! I finished on Friday night. Took my neuroscience final on Thursday, which I aced! I couldn’t believe it. I was crying and laughing at the same time, I was so happy. Then I took my sociology final on Friday, which I also aced. So I finished out the summer with all A’s. So happy!! And relieved. My summer classes were all interesting, but they were so much work and reading; I don’t think my brain has fully recovered! 😛

So yes, I’m enjoying having a break for the next 2 weeks. I’m looking forward to my fall classes, it’s just going to be a ton of work. Anyway, I’m enjoying just relaxing for now 🙂 I’m excited to finally see some friends too. I have a couple girlfriends I haven’t seen in about a year because of school and work; it’s just been constant since last fall started. But we get to see each other soon and I’m excited.

I’m gonna go rest a bit more now and then I’ll post later 🙂

Today marks week 2 of my July summer session, and the first week was crazy! My sociology book came in almost a week late, so I had to cram 4 chapters of reading, articles, and hours of audio lectures this weekend for last night’s exam. But I made a 100 on it! I’m so happy and relieved; it wasn’t near as hard as I thought it’d be. Since my book came in late and I had to cram, I only had time to make notes for the last chapter and the audio lectures, so I was worried about not remembering the first 3 chapters well, but I did! 🙂 So, I’m very thankful for that.

Neuroscience has been hectic as well. Three chapters of reading, plus hours of video/audio lectures as well – pretty much just as much as sociology. So, my brain feels very fried every night. But at least all of it is interesting. The neuroscience is a bit difficult to understand – biology and brain-related material has never been my strongpoint, but I’ll get it eventually. The first exam for this class is later this week, and we’re all nervous about it, but I’m sure I’ll do fine (but hopefully better than fine!).

Also, I finished my 30 Day Yoga Challenge this past week! It felt so good to finish that; it was the first time I’d ever finished one of those fitness-type challenges. I just feel better overall, in every way. So yes, I’m doing well 🙂 I’ll post again in a little while. I have another lecture to listen to!

Last post, I said the coming week would be hectic, and boy was I right. That was probably the most stressful week of class I’ve ever had since I started college. Had probably 7 chapters to read for sociology, then an 11-chapter test afterward, plus discussions. For anthropology, I had a whole book to read, 3 articles, 3 quizzes, a group project, a mini-essay over the project, and a 5-page midterm essay. So I am drained. Haven’t quite caught up on my sleep yet. Plus my mom having her surgery and being in the hospital for half a week was stressful to handle…seeing her like that was very hard for us.

And by the way, the surgery went well and she came home last night! She’s still in a lot of pain and moving around slowly, and she can’t do much on her own yet. But she’ll get there. I’m just glad she’s finally home.

Oh and look at the flowers some people brought for her:

Aren’t they gorgeous? 🙂

Also, I’m getting further along in my yoga challenge. I’m on Day 16, which I did tonight. I’m able to hold the Crow Pose, which I showed y’all a picture of last time, for up to 4 seconds. So I’m happy about that! 🙂 And I’m learning how to build myself up to being able to do the splits. I eventually want to be able to do the King Pigeon Pose:

I can only get halfway, with that back leg all the way down instead of up like she has it. But I’ll get there 🙂

Anyway, that’s all I have the energy to say for now. I’m super tired and need some sleep. I’ll post later!

I started my summer classes today. I love them so far. For my anthropology class, I had to make an introduction post in the student blog section, and my professor said we can make a PowerPoint for our introduction if we want to. So I did, and it was fun! I hope the professor and the other students like my post. I also started the reading for my sociology class today, which is interesting. It’s all about feminism so far. I’ll probably let y’all know about my thoughts on feminism as I read more about it. It’s interesting.

I also started that 30 Day Yoga Challenge today. I love it! I felt so relaxed afterward, as always 🙂 I also meditated for a little bit afterward. And now I’m relaxing while watching the premiere of The Fosters (on ABCFamily), which is really good by the way! And the season 3 premiere of Teen Wolf starts in a little bit, which I’m super excited for! Been waiting for almost a year to see season 3. I think all the Teen Wolf fanatics have been going insane for the past 10 months, including myself 😛

Anyway, my classes are good so far, the yoga challenge is fun, and I’m all relaxed for the night. I’ll post later! 🙂

Summer and classes and work, oh my!

This past week was crazy, but fun! I worked only 2 days last week, but they were longer days than usual. But it was good 🙂 Then this past weekend, I went to Galveston with my boyfriend’s family and spent the weekend with them at a beach house. So fun! I’d never been to a beach house before. I loved it. It was literally just a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. I wasn’t outside for very long, but I still got sunburned! Darn me and my pale skin 😛 But it was definitely the most fun, best weekend of my life.

Summer classes start in 2 weeks. I’m excited! I’m taking a sociology class and an anthropology class in June. I’ll admit I’m bit a nervous about it ‘cause I’ve heard from classmates that sociology classes are hard, and anthropology is a ton of work. Plus I’ll be working too. So, we’ll see how that goes. But I’m excited nonetheless. I’ve always wanted to take a sociology class and I finally get to! And anthropology sounds interesting. So yes, I’m excited 🙂

I can’t believe it’s already summer, though! Just a couple more months and I start my final year of college…can’t believe I’m becoming a senior! Graduation is just one year away. Can’t wait! I’m really looking forward to working in the psychology field. Hopefully I’ll get to intern somewhere in that field maybe in the fall or next spring.

So yes, that’s been my week and that’s the plan for June. I’ll talk about July the closer we get to it. Talk to y’all later! (And yes, I know the title for this post is weird :P)
